Es scheint doch ein bischen Hoffnung zu geben das Freestyle wieder mehr Beachtung findet.
Heute ist in New York im Madison Square Garden ein Riesen Freestyle Event:
Freestyle Extravaganza
featuring:
Stevie B, Lisa Lisa, Shanon, Judy Torres, TKA, The Cover Girls, George Lamond,Johnny O, Lissette Melendez & Cynthia,Coro and Noel & Ddavid (Nice & Wild).
da gab es am 18 April sogar ein Reunion Artikel darüber in der New York Village Voice (Zeitung)
und heute war sogar ein Artikel in der größten Zeitung New Yorks der NEW YORK POST zu lesen:

April 19, 2006 -- LADIES, tease out your hair and break out the shoulder pads. Fellas, shine those patent leather shoes with the double soles. It's time to dance to some Latin freestyle, the stepchild of disco and hip-hop.
Fans of the genre can see some of their favorite artists at The Freestyle Reunion Extravaganza tomorrow at Madison Square Garden. The show will feature performances by freestyle legends like TKA, Coro, Judy Torres, Lisa Lisa, Noel and Lisette Melendez.
"It's a huge validation," the "Queen of Freestyle" and WKTU deejay Judy Torres says of the show.
Best remembered for romantic hits like "Come Into My Arms" and "No Reason To Cry," the thirtysomething Torres believes the show at the Garden is proof that the movement is still alive and kicking.
"We sold out in the night clubs, and in big arenas, but we never really had something as prestigious as MSG," Torres says.
"People are really gonna be surprised," says heartthrob Puerto Rican crooner George Lamond, known for hits like "Bad of The Heart" and "Si Tu Ves." "I know that it will fill a void for a lot of Latinos and Americanos who really love this music."
Lamond, is no stranger to the Garden or to large crowds, having performed as a solo artist and as a member of the trio TKA, whose singer/songwriter Kayel wrote some of the genre's most memorable songs.
"I was lucky enough to be the guy that everyone felt they could come and speak to about what was going on with them," says Kayel, an East Harlem Boricua who sometimes records as K7.
TKA's hits include "Louder Than Love," "Maria" and "Scars of Love."
"There are a lot of artists out there that were great that are not doing it now," Kayel continues, explaining why he still performs. " . . . I look at Mick Jagger and Paul McCartney and the Temptations and they're doing their thing at 60 or older. I am nowhere near 60 but come to a TKA show and you'll see me doing my thing."
Tomorrow, 8 p.m., MSG, 32nd St. at Seventh Ave. (212) 307-7171. Tickets start at $39.50.

Das wär ein Knaller das zu sehen nehme mal an, daß es gut besucht sein wird trotz das der Madison Square Garden fast schon zu groß ist für so ein Event.

stimmt ein Erlebnis ist das schon, habe Ende der 80 er und Anfang der 90 er einige Live Acts in Florida gesehen.

Teils Teils. Da gab es einen Hot Wheels Skating Center (Rollschuhbahn) da ging sehr viel ab. Habe schon Acts wie Corinna, Cynthia, Judy Torres, Stevie B, Johnny O, Pajama Party (Live Mitschnitt von einem Konzert im Atlantis Water Kingdom Wasserpark hab ich ) TKA (öfter auch mal ein Livegig) bei einer Poolanlage in Miami Beach. Lil Suzy mehrmals. Noel. 2 Live Crew. uvm. War auch schon ein paar mal auf der Winter Music Conference in Miami Beach.

Ich wäre sofort hingeflogen wenn ich die Zeit gehabt hätte. Sehr sehr schade. Vielleicht beim nächsten Mal. Wer fliegt mit?

kommt darauf an wo dein Nachbar ein Haus hat in Florida je nach dem wo ne Veranstaltung wäre ist es nicht so einfach mal zu sagen ich fahr da mal hin es ist ja nur ein Katzensprung. Selbst in der Miami Area kann man ein paar Stunden unterwegs sein um von a nach b zu kommen.
Übernachtungsmöglichkeiten hätt ich bestimmt für mind. 8 Personen evtl. mehr.
