The Freestyle Charts Are Starting – Your Vote Counts
Which freestyle CD is on repeat at your place right now? Which record is a true classic for you? Starting October 1st, you can show it: that's when the Freestyle Charts start for the very first time – our community's monthly hit list.
No record label and no radio station decides what makes it to the top. You do.
How to take part
- Sign in. Every member can vote. No account yet? Register here for free. Had an account on the old site? Then set a new password via "Forgot password".
- Open the charts page. Under "Your ballot", search for a CD by title or artist and click "Vote".
- Pick up to 5 CDs. You don't have to fill all five spots – even a single vote counts.
- Set your order. Your favourite CD goes to spot 1. Use the ▲/▼ arrows or drag the CDs into your order.
It's even quicker on a CD's own page: look for the "Vote for the charts" button. One click – and the CD lands on your next free spot.
How the points work
The higher you rank a CD, the more points it gets:
- Spot 1 = 5 points
- Spot 2 = 4 points
- Spot 3 = 3 points
- Spot 4 = 2 points
- Spot 5 = 1 point
The points from all members are added up. The CD with the most points takes the top spot.
How a month works
- A whole month to vote: Voting runs from the first to the last day of the month.
- Change your mind any time: Until the end of the month, you can swap, reorder or remove CDs.
- Follow it live: The current standings are shown all month long on the charts page and on the home page.
- The results: When the month ends, voting closes and that month's charts are final. So the first Freestyle Charts will be out at the beginning of November.
- The archive: Every finished month is kept. Use the month selector on the charts page to look back at any time.
- New month, new vote: Voting starts fresh every month, so you put together a new top 5 each time.
Keep coming back
Your loyalty earns you the "Voter" achievement: bronze for the very first month you vote, silver after 6 months, gold after 12.
Your CD is missing?
You can vote for any CD in our database. Can't find your favourite? Then suggest it to us. We'll review it and add it.
