Lil' Johanna

Handling success at any age is a challenge. Capturing a star at the tender of age of 12, doing so with all the energy of those years, and the pose of a girl far beyond these numbers is (former??) HIGH POWER RECORDS' (Lil Johanna's current label at this time is unknown) freestyle recording artist Lil' Johanna. Her debut single, "TAKE ME IN YOUR ARMS AGAIN" is tearing up the east coast and movin' out west.

What makes Lil' Johanna so special is the fact that not only is this spirited young lady able to sing her heart out, but she can also dance freestyle and hip hop, and, being proud of her Puerto Rican heritage, can also dance such traditional steps as flamenco, salsa, and on and on. She is a straight-A student, and to top it off, is able to speak and perform all of her music in fluent Spanish. This girlie's got it goin' on!

"When I was 11, my mom and I found that I had quite a nice voice," proudly states Lil' Johanna. "So I started out performing at festivals and talent shows, sometimes with dancers. Soon after that, we went to HIGH POWER RECORDS. I performed right then and there in their office, and that kicked off.

"At the young age I am," beams Lil' Johanna, "it is a privilege to be doing my music. I am very honered and proud. I mean, most people don't get to this point - ever- and I have so much ahead of me."

Currently Lil' Johanna is performing shows - with a live band - across the country for radio, various events, and in clubs (with an escort of course!). A year after the Freestyle Lives cd compilation was released (1195), Lil' Johanna's Real Love album was released off of HIGH POWER RECORDS. If you haven't checked it out yet, it's worth the while. Her album contains a very moving tribute to the late Tejano legend, Selena which is definitely worth checking out.
