J.L.

Jose Lopez, professionally known as J.L., a huge fan of freestyle whose hard work and determination, finally began to materialize this year. A lifetime freestyle fanatic, and a creative writer in his own right, J.L. decided that it was finally time for him to add the growing family of Freestyle Allstars.

Born in Puerto Rico, but raised in Hartford, Ct, he was fortunate enough to grow up in an urban area,rich with Freestyle Music. There are four major college radio stations that play Freestyle as one of their main formats.

J.L. is influenced by many of the old-school veterans that dominated freestyle in the early 90's. His style is smooth and melodic, but able to explode with excitement to fit the present song. Definately a throw-back, J.L.'s style will be quickly embraced by those die-hard fanatics who grew up on freestyle. The newer generation of Freestyle fans will also appreciate what he will bring to the Freestyle Nation.

J.L.'s first single is entitled, "Alone in the Dark." It was produced by Nathan Lee (CPR's Clubhouse) for FlipZide Productions. It was written by J.L. and FredNIce (Vocal Image). The song is an appealing combination of smooth vocals with a hard hitting production. La Mega 1230 AM in Hartford was given an advance copy and the feedback has been tremendous.

J.L hopes to be more than a one-hit wonder. He is currently promoting his first single, to be released on the FlipZide Production's Compilation (As of yet untitled). His debut into Freestyle has been a complete success. Currently one of the most requested song on the radio station. It will soon become a fan favorite at other radio stations across America.

Look out for more of J.L. in the future. His addition to the Freestyle community is a plus to fans across the nation. J.L. is proof that through hard work, and patience... your dreams too, can come true.
