Linda Caballero, known as India was born in Puerto Rico and raised in the Bronx. She made appearances with TKA on stage earlier in their career and sang with them although she never sang on their albums. India decided to record her own track, so she hooked up with producer John "Jellybean" Benitez and remade "Dancing On The Fire". Her own style of sound and strong vocals made her popular with fans and her music a hit in the late 80's. Many other popular freestyle tracks were released including "Mirage", "Right From The Start" and "The Lover Who Rocks You". Around 1994 India's sound began changing and moved away from freestyle into singing salsa music. She became very successful at it releasing many albums over the years including her latest "Sobre El Fuego" in 1998 which had a Grammy nomination.
