Gioia Bruno

Gioia Bruno first made her mark in the music scene as part of the Arista
Records super group Expose . After 8 top ten hits, 2 platinum albums and 3
world tours she was forced to leave the group . Gioia was told by doctors
that she would never sing again due to irreparable throat damage .
Miraculously, after several years her voice began to reappear stronger than
ever and it was her doctors who were left speechless . Now she's back to
reaffirm her spot at the top of the charts once again with her highly
anticipated solo album.

It all started for Gioia at the tender age of fifteen when she began
writing songs and poetry . Influenced by the likes of Carole King, Pat Benatar, and Earth, Wind And Fire Gioia started cultivating her signature sound early on . She began singing in cover bands at the age of 16 in the
tri-state area and quickly became a local celebrity . When Gioia was 19 she had the opportunity to open a new club in Miami . It was there that Arista Records witnessed first hand Gioia's breathtaking vocal abilities and captivating stage presence . They wasted no time in recruiting her for
their new group Expose.

One by one Expose started releasing blockbuster albums(1987's Exposure, 1989's What You Don't Know) and numerous chart topping singles(Come Go With Me, Point Of No Return, Let Me Be The One, What You Don't Know, Tell Me Why, etc..) . including the Billboard #1 hit single from 1988 "Season's Change" . Unfortunately, it would all come to an abrupt end . She developed a tumor on her vocal cord . Gioia's doctors believed she would never be able to sing again . Gioia had no other alternative but to leave Expose . Gioia might have left the group but she was not going to be counted out so easily . It was Gioia's strong will and undieing faith that saw her through that difficult time in her life . Thanks in part to some "divine intervention" the tumor is now a thing of the past . It's nothing less than astonishing . But then isn't that to be expected when we are referring to Gioia Bruno?

In 1997 Gioia dove into the spotlight again as the lead singer of the Miami based rock band, "Wet" . The style was much different then the infectious dance grooves and rich harmonies of Expose . This time around Gioia lent not only her voice but also her soul by supplying the lyrics to many of the songs on the group's cd entitled "Shelter" . It quickly became an underground classic . The songs were empowering, emotionally charged and thought provoking . Bruno's voice was the perfect fit to this rock/alternative album . At times it even proved hypnotic (best displayed on the title track "Shelter"). Gioia quickly realized her work in the musicbusiness was not over.

As a result of Gioia's experiences she has reimmerged with a new sense of herself and a confidence which comes from within . To celebrate this Gioia has decided it is now time for her to return to her pop/rock roots . She has worked with Richie Supa (Aerosmith), Sandy Lindser (Whitney Houston) and has recently published a pop song for a Hispanic girl group called, "Double Or Nothing" . Gioia is currently collaborating with Mauro DeSantis (Christina Aguilara, Brandy, Cher), Ann Marie (Disney's Pocahontas, DreamWorks), Michael Doan (Take 6) and Dennis Blischak . Gioia is now able to write her own music and express her true self . Finally a chance to shine as a vocalist and and songwriter . Gioia states, "Music has always been my passion, a melodic thought to bring a smile to the face, tears to the heart, or a groove to the soul . It's always been a way for me to communicate . These songs are some of my stories."
