Brissa

A Texas born Latina, Brissa grew up around a music family. Her grandfather, father and other family members were musicians and band members performing songs from their native country of Mexico. Brissa started performing at middle school talent shows and competitions, and continued throughout her teen years.
At age 18, she joined a Latin female dance trio, and her management landed a deal with a Miami label. In her experience, Brissa was able to hit the road and perform with top Latin artists like the Barrio Boyz, Los Illegales, Grupo Niche, Oro Sonido and more. She also gained experience in dance as she choreographed the majority of their shows.

Singing and rapping in Spanish, Brissa always dreamed of crossing over to the English pop, dance, and R & B markets. It was during this time that radio and record veteran Charles Chavez, saw her on stage, and knew that she could do it.
After the demise of her trio, Chavez contacted Brissa, now 21, and signed her to Latium Records, a Texas-based record label specializing in Latino artists for the pop arena. Her newly released single “Muevelo” is already creating a buzz on mix shows and dance floors nationwide, and her self titled debut album “Brissa” was released at the end of February of 2000. The album reflects Brissa’s versatility, which includes a mixture of pop, dance, and R & B; all laced with the Latin soul that Brissa has grown up to love.
