Born into a musically inclined family, this vibrant young woman known today as Michelle Alvendia was no stranger to music.Her father, an accomplished pianist and organ player, passed on the love for music to Michelle and her two younger brothers.While dancing and singing to the accompaniment of her brothers on guitar and drums, she learned to play the piano and found joy in writing her own music.Thinking back on this common thread, a smile comes to Michelle’s face when she reminisces of their family get-togethers, creating the music only a tight knit family can. At the age of 8 she felt her calling to the world of music composition, and those were her first steps on the road of performing arts.Although her early years focused primarily on dance, Michelle picked up the microphone professionally in High School and with a little encouragement from her dear friend Bobby, decided to take up choir.This then lead to a haphazard audition for the school musical, West Side Story.Like many other success stories of popular artists, she landed the lead role of Maria, a role which caught her by surprise.

After high school, Michelle continued to dance and sing for the Marnie Batts Dance Academy, and landed gigs for local television programs, the Foothill Repertory Company, and the Festival of Arts in Los Altos Hills.Of her most memorable performances, her work for President Clinton’s council was one of her favorites.Something, however, was missing in Michelle’s life, and little did she know that her love for music, and her love of poetry would lead to her first accomplishment in the entertainment industry. In 1998, Michelle wrote and co-produced her first single, Always On My Mind.Concentrating on her musical style and stage presence, her single made its impact as several top radio stations in the general Bay Area picked her up.

With one of the biggest stations, WILD 94.9 FM, giving her air-play on their mix shows, this woman’s dreams unfolded before her. Riding on this rush, Michelle has continued to move audiences area wide and her gorgeous smile, as captured by Michael Anthony of Perspectives Photography, leaves many wanting more. Truly a talented woman, Michelle maintains control of all aspects of her music from lyrics to harmony to melody. She puts in 110% in all that she does, and her determination is reflective of the support she received as a child from her mother. Incorporating her past experience in dance, she also takes a strong interest in her choreography. Determined, she dreams of one day having her own label so that she may open the doors for future talented youth, and with the heart of gold she has, this woman can do it. Upon asking her what keeps her going, she can only pause, sigh, and reply, "I believe that hard work and determination will always produce something you can be proud of." By the looks of things so far, this woman’s hard work and determination can only produce one thing... SUCCESS...
